The Duke Energy Duette Solar site is planned to be on a 520 acre site located in Manatee County, Florida. Once up and running, the facility will be comprised of 227,000 single-axis tracking solar panels, which will be able to generate enough energy to power approximately 23,000 homes . Geopoint Surveying started off the project with the initial topographic LiDAR survey. Currently, the project is underway and GeoPoint crews can be seen on site staking out the various components that will allow the solar site to operate at full potential.
The initial topographic survey was conducted with our state of the art RIEGL VUX 1-LR laser scanner. The plethora of information allowed Duke Energy to fully understand site conditions in new and fascinating ways.
